Be Grateful for Him

Sometimes it can be hard to feel true, deep gratitude because this world is full of wrongs. It’s hard to see good when the bad is always acknowledged and highlighted. It’s hard to see the love when we see so much hate. But we have so much to be grateful for! There is so much goodness and love in this world that God has given us, and it’s a goodness that doesn’t come from us, but from Jesus. There is no goodness without Him. His goodness is what sustains every living being. His goodness is what gives us breath. Without the goodness of God, we would cease to exist.

Be grateful that despite this rocky world, we have been given life and breath and sight and love. That we are not alone or living for no reason or purpose, but that we have a God who made us, who loves us, and who offers a way to eternal life. In Jesus, you can have paradise forever, past this life. Your only hope does not have to be in this lifetime. You can look forward to something so much better! If you think there is beauty in this world, it doesn’t even slightly compare to the place that God has prepared for those who love Him.

{1 Corinthians 2:9}
“Things which eye has not seen and ear has not heard, and which have not entered into the heart of man, all that God has prepared for those who LOVE Him.”

As lovers of God, when we awaken in the morning and drink deeply the truth of why we’re here and where we are going, it fills our heart with pure and overflowing gratitude.

HE is so much to be grateful for!

I fall for You Every Single Day

Everyday, when I open my eyes, I realize all over again how lucky I am to have you.
But it’s not luck, because it wasn’t by accident.
I was Yours before the foundation of the earth.
I was Yours before I knew I was Yours.
And being Yours, every morning as my eyes open, You take my breath away.
You take my breath away as the first thought of You passes through my mind.
You take it away, only to give it back to me, so I can then give my breath back to You in sweet, overwhelming, fiery, intense love, worship, and adoration.
Let every part of my life be worship unto You.
Let my fragrance be a pleasing aroma to You and You alone.
Oh God, you are all I want.
You are all I will ever need.
Strip me of all I have and I will still want You.
I thirst for You. My soul longs for You. My whole being pants for You in excruciating bursts of love and joy as I wait for the day you come.
You are my treasure, you are my gold, you are my silver, you are my all in all. Nothing else even matters outside of you.
You are my love, my life, and I am so in love with You.
Every morning, it’s anew.
It’ll never fade because the depths of Your love will never end.
You’re perfect, breathtaking, and Your love sets me ablaze.
Like a fire that cannot be quenched.
Nor will ever be put out.
I love You more than I have ever loved anything before.
I’ll never love anything the way I love You.
Let me go deeper.

Everyday I fall madly in love with you all over again.

{Ephesians 1:4}
“Just as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and blameless before Him in love.”

{Song of Songs 4:10-11}
“Your love delights me, my treasure, my bride. Your love is better than wine, your perfume more fragrant than spices. Your lips are as sweet as nectar, my bride. Honey and milk are under your tongue.”

{Revelation 22:17}
The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.”

{Job 22:25-27}
“And make the Almighty your gold and [the Lord] your precious silver treasure, Then you will have delight in the Almighty, and you will lift up your face to God. You will make your prayer to Him, and He will hear you,”

{Song of Solomon 8:6}
“For love is as strong as death, Jealousy is as severe as the grave; Its flashes are flashes of fire, The very flame of the LORD.”

{Psalms 42}
“So my soul pants for You, O God. My soul thirsts for God, for the living God; When shall I come and appear before God? Deep calls to deep at the sound of Your waterfalls; All Your breakers and Your waves have rolled over me. The LORD will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; And His song will be with me in the night, A prayer to the God of my life.”

God is my Warrior

I can’t even begin to recall how many times in scripture that God calls us to have courage and to not be afraid. Hundreds of times. How beautiful is that? He’s so concerned with ensuring that if we’re His, we have absolutely nothing to ever worry about. God is sovereign and He works everything out for our good, for those who love Him. EVEN when we mess up and sin, and make mistakes, and fumble – time, and time, and time again. There is no better security or assurance than this! He wants us to trust Him as our warrior God, carrying us through this life on earth and fighting our battles as well as equipping us with His armour.

The battle belongs to the Lord our God. And He so delights when we fall to our knees, lift up our hands, and give all our cares and concerns and problems to Him. He adores a heart crying out to Him. He delights in taking care of us and sheltering us under His wing, as a mother hen covers her babies. We’re God’s babies, and we have nothing to fear, as long as we’re clinging to Him. He is in control and He is more powerful than even the most horrible circumstances or scariest situations. Even during these times and seasons, we have nothing to fear. The God of all that exists has us in the palm of His hand. We can never be snatched out of His hand, which means we have nothing to fear. If our God is for us, who can ever be against us??? Not demons, not any spiritual thing, no authority, no calamity, or hardship, or trying time, or pain, or even DEATH – not even death can separate us from God’s love and protection and sovereignty over our lives. His seal is over our heart, and our name is written on the palm of His hand. We’re His, forever. And He will protect us every day for the rest of our lives here on this earth.

What a glorious warrior King.💛

{Isaiah 49:16}
See, I have engraved you on the palms of my hands; your walls are ever before me.

{exodus 14:14}
The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.

{The Song of Solomon 8:6-7}
Place me as a seal upon your heart, as a seal upon your arm, for love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.

{Romans 8:31-39}
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us. Can anything ever separate us from Christ’s love? Does it mean he no longer loves us if we have trouble or calamity, or are persecuted, or hungry, or destitute, or in danger, or threatened with death? (As the Scriptures say, “For your sake we are killed every day; we are being slaughtered like sheep.” ) No, despite all these things, overwhelming victory is ours through Christ, who loved us. And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord.

{Ephesians 6:10-18}
A final word: Be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. Put on all of God’s armor so that you will be able to stand firm against all strategies of the devil. For we are not fighting against flesh-and-blood enemies, but against evil rulers and authorities of the unseen world, against mighty powers in this dark world, and against evil spirits in the heavenly places. Therefore, put on every piece of God’s armor so you will be able to resist the enemy in the time of evil. Then after the battle you will still be standing firm. Stand your ground, putting on the belt of truth and the body armor of God’s righteousness. For shoes, put on the peace that comes from the Good News so that you will be fully prepared. In addition to all of these, hold up the shield of faith to stop the fiery arrows of the devil. Put on salvation as your helmet, and take the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. Pray in the Spirit at all times and on every occasion. Stay alert and be persistent in your prayers for all believers everywhere.

{Matthew 23:37}
“O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, the city that kills the prophets and stones God’s messengers! How often I have wanted to gather your children together as a hen protects her chicks beneath her wings, but you wouldn’t let me.”

His heart is so sweet.💛

Anchor for our Souls

Our soul is not scattered by the force of the waves that sometimes ingulf us; nor the strength of the winds that, at times, surround us; nor the burn of the intense heat of the sun on us; nor the numbness of the cold that can fill our bones. When we are God’s and belong to Him, our soul is anchored on the strongest and most steady and immovable thing that we can ever trust: God, our strong anchor. When waves crash and winds blow and heat burns and cold freezes, we will always find firm fitting in the steady Anchor of our soul.

He’s the one who will lift us out of the water that we drown in. He’s the one who holds us steady as the wind threatens to carry us away. He’s the one who shields us from burning, and the one who keeps us warm even during the coldest of seasons.

When you have God, you have everything. Though to the world you might be poor, because you have Him you are truly rich. You have the Anchor for your very own soul – the most valuable thing we possess. It’s good to trust God with our soul, there is no safer place. He is the One who made our souls, and He is the only One who has the power to guard it and keep it.

How do we make Him the Anchor of our souls?

Trust Him. Believe that He is who He says He is. Saturate yourself in His Holy Scriptures. Cry out to Him. Cast all of your burdens on Him. Worship Him. Praise His beautiful name. Bask in His presence. Be still before Him. Ask Him to be in every aspect of your life. Run to Him first, no matter the problem. Desire His will to be done in your life above your own will. Desire your desires to be His desires. Recognize your need for Him. Depend on Him more than anything else as the God who will care for you. Realize we’re here for Him and Him alone. Thank Him. Love Him with all of your heart, your soul, your mind, your strength.

Abide in Him, and He will abide in you. Turn to Him, and you will receive the Anchor for your soul. One who will hold you, sustain you, protect you, carry you, shield you, teach you, grow you, strengthen you, guide you, and love you more than anyone ever could.

{Hebrews 6:19}
This hope is a strong and trustworthy anchor for our souls. It leads us through the curtain into God’s inner sanctuary.

I am God’s Artwork

When I was a child, I always wondered about the human body and the way it’s made. In my eyes, even as a little one, I acknowledged that our human bodies are perfect in form and structure. I would contemplate and analyze different alternatives: eyes near the chin and mouth on the forehead? Feet at the end of our arms instead of hands? A mouth on our neck? Ears on our cheeks? Legs flailing around at the side of our hips? I would sit there and examine this as an 8 year old child. It happened often. It was my mind wondering if this human body of ours really is random evolution from a chaotic boom, or was this designed? Is this body of ours, in all of its complexities, the way it is on purpose? With creativity? Intelligence? Wisdom? Care? Are our bodies perfect just the way they are made?

Everytime I would meditate and ponder this in my mind, the answer was always, always, always a resounding and overwhelming YES. Overwhelmingly. No other way works. No other form works, nor structure. Our bodies are designed in perfect function, way, form and beauty just the way God made it.

As you look into the science of how every single little part of our bodies function, such as toes or eyelashes or little parts holding us together on the inside, it’s evident that we were created by a Maker and we’re made so well and beautifully!

We were made in His image, and He created us with pleasure, purpose, creativity, supreme intelligence, and love. We are made with great reverence, heartfelt interest, and respect. We are wonderfully made. And oh, it is good. Just like He says it is.

We are living art created by the hand of the living God. 💕

{Psalm 139:14}
I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

{Genesis‬ ‭1‬:‭26,27,31‬}
Then God said, “Let us make human beings in our image, to be like us. So God created human beings in his own image. In the image of God he created them; male and female he created them. Then God looked over all he had made, and he saw that it was very good!”

King of L O V E

God is SO beautiful! I will breathe my last breath on this earth with my heart enthralled by His beauty and majesty. With my eyes wide open in awe as I drink in His wonder, His glory, His LOVE. My heart pounds and quickens at the mere thought of who He is. Just a thought of Him brushing up gently through my mind excites me more than anything ever could. He is God, the King of glory. The honour, the power, and the Kingdom are His forever. It belongs to Him and no other. As God’s people, the awareness of who we belong to should do something wild inside of us. A fire within us that cannot be quenched.

He’s not another created being, He is the Creator – the one who created all of this grand, harmonious, mind-blowing beauty that we are constantly saturated in. Oh, He is beautiful. No worldly King could compare to the ultimate King, the true King. The King who defines love just by being who He is. We can see just who our King and all of His majesty just by viewing all the glorious beauty we see on earth. As our eyes open, it becomes all too obvious. He is breathtaking and it is so exquisite to be close and experience intimacy and love with Him. Feast on the beauty and drink it in. It displays the goodness of God, which is too beautiful for us to ever comprehend. Lavish your love and adoration upon the King of love because He is the only One who truly deserves all of our heart, all of our love, all of our praise, and every ounce of worship we could give with all of our might.

What a exceedingly beautiful God. Jesus Christ, the King of L O V E.

{Matthew 6:13}
“For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen.”

His Presence

His presence. There are no human words to express the decadent, rich, fulfilling, beautiful, holy, pleasurable presence of God. It makes everything in this world melt away. Only God can flood you with a supernatural peace not dependant on any single circumstance. He assures you that you’re loved by Him. He assures you that He’s in control, and He’s so concerned about every single thing in your life. That we need not worry, because the One who made us is incredibly committed to us. He’s compassionate, and he feels deeply for us. He’s ready to reign down His peace on us the moment we cry out to Him. He loves when we cry out to Him in need and want. It moves him. He is a God who is powerfully moved by our love towards Him.

When He comes and overwhelmingly fills us with his presence, it strengthens us, edifies us, gives us unworldly joy, deepens our hearts to His love, and so much more. A relationship with Jesus isn’t one-way. It isn’t us humans serving a distant God and following rules. Oh no, that couldn’t be farther from the truth. It’s responsive, tender, close, intimate, intertwined, all-consuming, and sweeter than anything. It’s full of love and even divine discipline at times, but always in love. His mission is to grow, shape, strengthen us, mould us more and more into the beauty of Jesus Christ. Preparing us for glory.

Having Him as our God, our Saviour, our Lord, our everything…we can count on knowing that we will never be left alone.

This truth alone floods my whole being with joy. I sometimes can’t contain it! Because I don’t want to be left alone in this uncertain world. I want my Saviour. I want Him more than anything, and having Him, I won’t let Him go for all the riches in the world.

Once you experience the presence of the living, powerful, Almighty God, you will never again look to anything else to be fulfilled. He is it. He is more than enough to give us everything we could ever need.

And He delights in doing this.

{Song of Songs‬ 7:6}
“Oh, how beautiful you are! How pleasing, my love, how full of delights!”
{Song of Songs‬ ‭6‬:‭5‬}
“Turn your eyes away, for they overpower me.”
{Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭20‬}
“And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”
{Romans‬ ‭9‬:‭23‬}
“He does this to make the riches of his glory shine even brighter on those to whom he
shows mercy, who were prepared in advance for glory.”
{Romans‬ ‭8‬:‭28‬}
“And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”

His Treasured Possession

When you belong to Him you become His posession. His prized, treasured, adored possession. You are His inheritance. He values you beyond measure and views you as a gift to Himself. He sees you as a beautiful and as a precious gem. A royal crown that He holds in his hand. You are His. And the majestic God of Heaven is yours. He bought you with the highest price; He bought you with His own blood.

It’s the kind of love, the kind of romance that is almost unbearable to handle in our human state. Yet, tasting this exquisite love of His pulls out our heart’s deepest cry to Him, fainting for more. When a person is truly God’s bride, nothing – and I mean nothing – other than God himself, will ever be able to satisfy again. Experiencing God is the ultimate pleasure and it completely nullifies all other little faulty worldly pleasures–pleasures that will always leave us empty. He’s the one who truly fills and leaves us overflowing and satisfied. That is because we were made for Him. We were made by Him for HIS pleasure, and we will never find true pleasure until we come into contact with His pleasure.

He guides us to Himself by putting in the human heart a craving and a void. Many will seek other pleasures to fill the void that God put in our hearts. That’s why addictions are real. Why sensuality is saturated in our society. Why the buzz of the television won’t quit. Why we latch on to people and material things for personal security. And so many other things. Because we have a real void that we recklessly chase to fill our whole lives. We search for things that might give us pleasure for a moment but always leave us painfully aching. But the void is within us because we’re meant to crawl to Him and find true filling, true life, true pleasure, and true satisfaction. Only He can give it. Once it’s found in Him, the need to fill our souls with any and every other thing in this world melts away and disappears.

He fills us with His beauty, with His love, with His glory. And we become His crown, His joy, His treasure.

We are the object of the King’s love.

{Deuteronomy 7:6}
“For you are a holy people, who belong to the LORD your God. Of all the people on earth, the LORD your God has chosen you to be his own special treasure.”
{Song of Songs‬ ‭4‬:‭9-10‬}
“You have captured my heart, my treasure, my bride. You hold it hostage with one glance of your eyes, with a single jewel of your necklace. Your love delights me, my treasure, my bride. Your love is better than wine, your perfume more fragrant than spices.”
{Song of Songs‬ ‭6‬:‭3‬}
“I am my lover’s, and my lover is mine.”
{1 Corinthians‬ ‭7‬:‭23‬}
“God paid a high price for you, so don’t be enslaved by the world.”
{Psalms‬ ‭149‬:‭4}
“For the LORD takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the afflicted ones with salvation.”
{John‬ ‭4‬:‭14‬}
“But those who drink the water I give will never be thirsty again. It becomes a fresh, bubbling spring within them, giving them eternal life.”

God is Personal

Our God is personal. Very personal. All you have to do is think deeply and meditate on how our bodies are made. Our brain, so complex that science will never be able to fully understand. Our hearts, beating steadily and continuously our entire lives. Our lungs, our eyes, our veins, our fingers, our tastebuds, teeth, eyelashes, stomach, bones, blood, and all of the intricate and harmonious parts that hold us together. It’s incredible, and shows us that we are made with love, care, wisdom, desire…and it’s personal. We didn’t just appear here out of nowhere with no supreme intelligent love behind it. Just look at our ability to analyze, think, perceive, feel, love, cry. Feel sadness, hurt, pain, sorrow, anger. Feel joy, excitement, humour. Experiencing laughter. Mental capacities, rationalizations, solving problems, and ability to feel deep emotion does not evolve from a blob in the water.

We are elaborately made, complex beings, created by an immeasurably intelligent, complex God. When we start become aware of this, our eyes become open to the reality of who He is. We fall into our true human purpose – to be in a loving relationship with our Creator. Outside of this, everything else is chasing the wind until we’re gone forever. He is worth knowing and worth loving.

He is great. Incredible. Magnificent. Beautiful. Majestic. Good. Thrilling.

Personal. Look at His creation.💛🌻

A Million Sunsets

The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands. Day after day they pour forth speech; night after night they reveal knowledge. They have no speech, they use no words; no sound is heard from them. Yet their voice goes out into all the earth, their words to the ends of the world. In the heavens God has pitched a tent for the sun. It is like a bridegroom coming out of his chamber, like a champion rejoicing to run his course. It rises at one end of the heavens and makes its circuit to the other; nothing is deprived of its warmth. (Psalm 19:1-6)💛

Jesus: magnificent Creator of all that exists. It’s all about Him. It always was about Him, always is about Him, and always will be about Him. He is God and He is more beautiful than anything we can see, magnified.

Sunsets are glorious and display the work of our Creator. He creates indescribably beautiful things. Things so beautiful, that they take our breath away. They make our heart flutter wildly inside of our chest as our eyes gaze upon the splendour of His creation.

And these are just a drop of His glory; these are only things He made, things that came from His mind, His heart, His wisdom, His unending intelligence. Imagine how much more beautiful He is Himself.

A million sunsets and sunrises and stars and suns combined couldn’t even begin to compare to His beauty and splendour. He’s so much better.

He is love Himself.
