Experiencing God’s LOVE

15036590_962651550508301_8811748588147061029_n.jpg

The love of God is so profound that it is inexpressible. No amount of words in all forms of human language can fully capture the fullness of the love of God. Our minds can’t even handle it all and our hearts can’t contain it. We would burst.

His love is just so incredible, and I can feel His love rushing through my veins, even though I don’t see Him. He kisses my heart in ways no human could touch. And with His love comes pure satisfaction even through my living in a broken world. Even when my faith endures testing like fire. His peace will not leave and I have His love forever. I am blessed to receive His mercies and affections all of my days. This is the truth for all who have His word in their hearts and His name written across their forehead.

As much as I try to pour out with both spoken and written word the depths of His love unto others – so that those who haven’t yet experienced it can understand just how real and powerful and wild and perfect His love is – there is just no way to adequately convey His love. One must personally experience it as an object of His great love and a vessel of His mercy.

I can explain it day after day and it may bring your heart closer to Him, but it’s nothing compared to experiencing His love poured on you firsthand, you and Him, human and God, becoming one in sweet intimacy.

His love is breathtaking. It’s powerful. It melts us like wax, but in a really good way. It makes us whole. It cleanses us from impurities and constantly purifies us like gold refined by fire – HIS fire. It fills our hearts. It dispels depression, loneliness, anxiety, brokenness, self-loathing, and inability to accept oneself. His love is everything we could ever need and want and desire.

His love pursues and because our hearts are made for His love, we can’t help but respond. When you experience His real love, all you can do is fall on your knees in tears and love Him back with all of your heart, your soul, and your mind.

How do you experience God’s love? Ask Him for it.💖

“Kiss me and kiss me again, for your love is sweeter than wine.”
‭‭{Song of Songs‬ ‭1:2‬}‬‬

“All praise to God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is by his great mercy that we have been born again, because God raised Jesus Christ from the dead. Now we live with great expectation, and we have a priceless inheritance—an inheritance that is kept in heaven for you, pure and undefiled, beyond the reach of change and decay. And through your faith, God is protecting you by his power until you receive this salvation, which is ready to be revealed on the last day for all to see. So be truly glad. There is wonderful joy ahead, even though you must endure many trials for a little while. These trials will show that your faith is genuine. It is being tested as fire tests and purifies gold—though your faith is far more precious than mere gold. So when your faith remains strong through many trials, it will bring you much praise and glory and honor on the day when Jesus Christ is revealed to the whole world. You love him even though you have never seen him. Though you do not see him now, you trust him; and you rejoice with a glorious, inexpressible joy. The reward for trusting him will be the salvation of your souls.”
{‭‭1 Peter‬ ‭1:3-9‬}

God Keeps All of His Promises

15107296_960059664100823_1817329472232136934_n.jpg

There is no way in the world that God would ever break His promises. He could never. In His divine holiness, His promises are attached to His own perfect nature. He is the only One in all our existence that will never break His promises to you or let you down. He has showed me this time after time after time since I became His. Like a lover wooing His bride with remarkable love, God draws us in and then He lavishes His grace, His love, His favour, and His promises on us. His gifts are nothing like the gifts we receive on earth – His gifts are so much better.

His gift is this: that He quenches the human soul’s inborn thirst for the living God.

He does this by condescending into humanity and sacrificing His life for us, so we can be close to Him, closer than we could ever imagine. He does this by letting us know Him personally, intimately. He does this by knowing US personally, intimately.

Those deep and piercing heart-pulling great love stories that bring us to tears and ache our hearts ain’t got nothing on the ultimate romance with Him. The deep-set natural gut-wrenching hunger for the perfect love found only in God is why those movies exist in the first place. We want perfect love, and it’s only found in Him.

In His perfect love, He always keeps His promises.🌸

By his divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know him, the one who called us to himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. And because of his glory and excellence, he has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share his divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
‭‭{2 Peter‬ ‭1:3-4‬}

Our Hearts and God

15032204_952334214873368_3086699654180213033_n.jpg

No matter what storm you face, you can have Jesus’ protection and His promises to shield you and cover you. All you have to do is seek Him and ask Him to BE your life and be your God. But it really isn’t a ritualistic formula of words that will bring you forgiveness and closeness to Him, because anyone can say this but their heart not ready for God whatsoever. Anyone can say they are Christian but their hearts be far distant from God, not in true fellowship with Him. It goes deeper than the surface. Much deeper.

No, it’s a heart and soul that realizes she can’t do it on her own. She must realize that she’s a sinner against a perfect, holy, righteous, just God and that she can’t save herself. She must realize that she needs Him to rescue her or she’s doomed. She must realize that He’s her only hope in this messed up life, that He’s the only way, the only truth, and the only life. She must get to a place where she abandons everything else and comes to Him undone. She must get to a place of having a tender, open, raw heart ready for Him to make His home in her and make her whole and heal her. She must recognize that no man can love her like He loves her.

It’s imperative to know that there is no point to existence without God, and that He’s the only one who could ever satisfy fully. When this happens, He becomes our Rock, unwavering through all the storms of our life. He becomes closer to us than our own heart beating inside of our chest. And speaking from experience, it is so incredibly good and nothing could ever compare.

You see, before His Spirit dwells in us, it’s hard to fathom having real affections for God. It’s difficult to comprehend that our burdens can be lifted. Our sin and guilt and shame can vanish. It’s hard to grasp that we can actually feel so close to Him – closer than any human being that might be right in front of us. That we can feel His love so strongly that He leaves us breathless and makes our heart pound hard inside of our chest.

It’s difficult to picture in our minds and hearts that this can be our reality…until, that is, it actually happens. Until we seek Him with all our heart, our mind, our might, and our soul. Until He fills us with Himself. But that’s why the first step is faith. We reach out to Him in faith, asking Him to be ours. What we get in return is beyond our own comprehension. And it is so incredibly good that all the words in all the languages on earth would never be enough to fully describe this gift.

Some say it takes a great amount of faith to hold onto and believe in an invisible God; I say, it takes even greater faith to believe that this all came from nothing and we’re here for nothing and we’re doing nothing then we’ll die into nothing.

THAT, friends, takes faith.

{Psalm 92:14-16}
The LORD says,
“I will rescue those who love me.
I will protect those who call on My name.
When they call on me, I will answer;
I will be with them in trouble.
I will rescue and honour them.
I will reward them with a long life,
And give them my salvation.

His Faithfulness

14908337_951162881657168_8421672387018989371_n-2.jpg

One thing that You have never stopped displaying to me in both little and extravagant ways is what a faithful God You are. Your faithfulness never ends, and I’m continuously amazed by You. You’re such a good God and You’re amazing to love. I love that my heart is set on You, and that You are so tender and gentle and protective with it. I love that You are so involved in my life and so covered by Your presence and that I’m tightly in Your hands. I love that You hear my prayers and in my sweet whispers in the night, You respond. You are devoted to me and when a human soul is blessed with Your devotion, You never stop proving that You are faithful and true. You love loving me in extravagant ways and in ways I could never tell in a public format, because they’re special love moments shared between us. Secrets in the quiet place and things too amazing to be explained in words. I delight in being Your locked garden and it is ecstasy that I get to be faithful to You. Of course I’m weak and at times I fail but it only highlights Your perfection and unending devotion to me. Words can’t articulate what a bliss it is to love and be loved by You.

You are Faithful and True.

{Lamentations‬ ‭3:22-25‬}
“The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness. “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “Therefore I have hope in Him.” The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, To the person who seeks Him.”

‭‭{Song of Songs‬ ‭4:12‬}
“You are my private garden, my treasure, my bride, a secluded spring, a hidden fountain.”

‭‭{Revelation‬ ‭19}
“And I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sat on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war. His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; and He has a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself. He is clothed with a robe dipped in blood, and His name is called The Word of God. From His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may strike down the nations, and He will rule them with a rod of iron; and He treads the wine press of the fierce wrath of God, the Almighty. And on His robe and on His thigh He has a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.””

The Fire of God

14064227_888314511275339_7780168827774104204_n

God is a consuming fire. And once He sets a fire inside of a human’s heart, that fire will never cease. It’s a fire that never goes out. The fire of the Holy Spirit will burn in your heart for Him and only Him. You will be consumed by Him, be enthralled with Him, devoted to Him–as He is with you. Our minds will be fixated on Him, our hearts lovesick for Him, our souls longing for Him night and day, and night and day, night and day. It’s so good, and makes everything else in this world bland in comparison to Him – the King of Kings! A God so beautiful that if our natural eye saw Him for only a fraction of a second, we would go insane. Our human physical and mental state could not handle the fullness of the glory of God.

But once He sets a fire in your heart, you can experience Him and see Him with everything inside of you. He lets us know Him. He lets us love Him. He lets our souls move closer and closer into His deep warmth, into His gentle sweetness. He lets us find refuge in Him and He lets us find protection in Him. He lets us come into His Holy presence.

Once you taste these things in the one true God, you will never, ever, ever, ever stop wanting more of Him. His fire inside the human soul burns forever.🔥

Let it burn in you, and you will come alive.

{Hebrews 12:29}
“for our God is a consuming fire.”

{Matthew‬ ‭3:11‬}
“He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire.” ‭‭

{Song of Solomon 8:6-7}
“love is strong as death, jealousy is fierce as the grave. Its flashes are flashes of fire, the very flame of the Lord. Many waters cannot quench love, neither can floods drown it.”

Be Still and Know our Warrior

14051813_887254114714712_2893549542636814207_n

Be still and know that I am God.” {psalm 46:10}

These are God’s words to us. They’re so full of assurance and comfort. Of protection and leadership. This means to let your soul trust him. Soak each line in slowly:

be s t i l l
and k n o w
that
H e  i s  G O D

To do this is to let go of trying and striving and KNOW that He is God and He WILL take care of you. You’re precious and a treasure in His sight and He overlooks nothing. It’s to know that He is invested in your life and nothing escapes Him. To know that your God is sovereign and in control. He fights for you and He delights in doing it.

To be still is to curl up into Him, letting your heart unravel before Him as you share with Him all of your concerns. But also being still in trusting that when you open your heart to Him and surrender yourself to Him, that He is God who is active in every aspect of your life and He is ordaining our steps. Even if at times things aren’t happening exactly the way we’d like or feels like He’s not doing much, being still and knowing that HE IS. He is. And that’s enough to know.

He wants you to keep trusting Him and know that He has plans for you. He wants you to keep turning to Him even when things don’t work out ideally in our minds. Being still is letting it fall into place without worrying, knowing your God goes before you. Letting God handle the situation and having peace about it.

{Exodus 14:14}
“The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still.”

He is compassionate and also a warrior. He so delights in tenderly loving us and fiercely fighting for us.

I Just Want to be With Him

14021556_885658361540954_4214709855004362449_n

This world is beautiful, and I love living here. I love the life God gave me, and He satisfies my soul. But the closer I get to Him, the less appealing this world is. He makes everything else seem so dull in comparison. Just being in His presence hits me with such delight, joy, and a taste of Heaven; but all the while simultaneously experiencing a greater and deeper feeling of discontentedness in this world. Though He fully satisfies and fills me, there is this other part of me that becomes more and more dissatisfied and uncomfortable here. The more satisfied I am in Him, the less satisfying this world is. It’s a strong tension. Because I am both already a citizen of Heaven, but also living on earth. This world is not my home, and it only gets more and more apparent in my spirit.

This truth allows me to let everything go here, and give my whole self to God while I’m walking on this earth. I fully realize that I am here for Him and Him alone, for His purposes and His pleasure, and that I will one day see and experience all of the pleasures in eternity. This world may seem like it provides so much enticing gratification, so much of which seem difficult to let go of, especially for something we cannot tangibly grasp at this time. But just because we can’t see Him, doesn’t mean He’s not real. Nothing on earth could ever compare to the pleasures of being in God’s presence in paradise forever – the place He prepared for those who truly love Him.

If everyone had a momentary taste of what they could have in Heaven if they ask Jesus to be Lord over their life, every single person would let go of false treasures and fall to their knees before God and never be pulled by this world again. But that’s not what God wants. He wants our love and devotion because we want HIM and not a ticket to Heaven. We can’t see what God’s people are in for once they pass from this world to the next, but it will be unsurpassably beyond our wildest dreams. Thankfully, during my lifetime on earth, He allows me to escape into His arms.🌙💛

I just wanna be with Him.

{John 17:24}
“Father, I desire that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am”

{Philippians 3:20}
But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior.

{John 17:16-19
“They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world. And I give myself as a holy sacrifice for them so they can be made holy by your truth.“

He Owns the Skies, Yet He Wants me

14088688_884991508274306_7598335271585425142_n

It sounds too good to be true. However, this is the purest truth that we can know. He is the majestic Creator full of divine splendour and love, full of beauty and grace, full of mercy and compassion. He’s the imminent, omnipresent, omnipotent God who, if we took a glimpse at Him with our naked eye, would be too much our minds to handle. We would go mad if we saw Him for just a fraction of a second.

Thankfully, in Christ, He cleansed us of all unrighteousness and made us holy and blameless in His sight. We’re His saints. His people. And as we are continuously growing and being sanctified here on earth, we will one day be fully in His presence, perfect and full of glory. We will be like Him, equipped to see His glory. In this fallen world, we’re not able to see Him.

But, thanks be to God, we can experience His everlasting full presence, closeness, communion, and relationship. Though we can’t see Him, we can see Him in the way He loves us. We can see Him in everything He made. Look at the skies, in a splendour so great it leaves us in awe. The One who owns the skies wants our hearts, and He will pursue us for our devotion. He will guide us and allure us to Himself, where He will tenderly bring us into oneness with Him. I am so thankful that he allows us to enter into an eternal, loving relationship with Him. He is sky-mazing.

{Hosea 2:14}
“But then I will win her back once again. I will lead her into the desert and speak tenderly to her there.”

{1 John 3:2}
“We know that when He comes and is revealed, we will [as His children] be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is, in all His glory.” Yes, something that sounds too good to be true can indeed be the most piercing truth there is. Piercing like a double-edged sword

{Hebrews 4:12}
“For the word of God is living and active and full of power. It is sharper than any two-edged sword”

We’ll be swept away from this place one day by the most beautiful, loving, enchanting Being in existence.

Song of Songs 2:10
“Arise, my love, my fair one,
And come away.”

Our Thirst for God

14063989_883831341723656_5627061374244093867_n

There is a deep thirst in our soul that only God can quench. It is unquenchable by anything else.

We thirst for the true God. We thirst for the One who made our hearts. We thirst for our Creator, our Saviour, our everything. We thirst to be close to Him.

And until He quenches that thirst, we will only to continue to thirst.

Once you encounter the living God, and experience the Spirit of Jesus and His presence, no longer will you thirst. You will be drinking from the water of life. No longer will you be satisfied with anything lower than Him. All other things in this life becomes blurred like a wet black and white painting on a canvas, and ALL you can see is Him: clear, bright, shining, glorious.

As your eyes of love cut towards Him, He’s powerfully moved by you. He drinks in your love and feasts on your worship. He feels deeply for those who belong to Him. And His feelings are of intense love. Once you become a new creature, baptized with the fire of the Holy Spirit, you will never again thirst for anything less than God Himself. Nothing else can or will ever satisfy! He is it. We receive from Him, and He receives from us. Separation ceased, we become one with our God in sweet everlasting relationship.

Only God can give us exactly what we need perfectly, and oh! How He does it so completely and with master skill.👑💕

{Psalm 42:2}
“My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.“

{John 4:14}
“But whoever takes a drink of the water that I will give him shall never, no never, be thirsty any more. But the water that I will give him shall become a spring of water welling up (flowing, bubbling) continually within him into eternal life.”

{Ephesians 2:4}
“But God–so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and INTENSE love with which He loved us,”

{Zephaniah 3:17}
“For the LORD your God is living among you. He is a mighty savior. He will take delight in you with gladness. With his love, he will calm all your fears. He will rejoice over you with joyful songs.”

{Song of Solomon 6:5}
“Turn your eyes from me; they overwhelm me.”

Faithful and True

14102420_883126585127465_317479140540092407_n

Do you realize that there is way more to this life than living, working, going home, doing the dishes, driving to and fro, errand running, grocery shopping, hanging out with friends, getting heartbroken, getting car insurance, watching tv, eating popcorn, going out to eat, piling up money, attaining career goals, and cutting the grass?

There’s just more. Immensely more.

Before I came to Christ, I honestly didn’t know why I was here. Everything was a big mystery with no solid answers, such as we evolved from apes and we have no meaning. I would honestly wonder why I’m even here. What’s the point? What’s the point of doing anything – like reaching goals, doing the dishes, and planting a garden, if we’re just going to die and cease to exist. There seemed to be no purpose behind anything. We’re just here, life formed out of nothing, with no ultimate purpose, and then we die, leaving it all behind, having no clue why we even existed.

But there are more answers than we think.

This feeling in our lives of no purpose or true meaning is a sad and dreadful place to be. I was there. Until God came into my life, then it all changed…and it changed more than I could have ever imagined. I received purpose. Meaning. Love. Salvation. Fullness. Security. And I received an inheritance of Heaven and God Himself.

There is no bliss greater than a soul lovingly in God’s tender hands.

We don’t have to put all our hope in this world, when there is a greater hope, a greater promise for the world to come. One that will never end. And one that is better than this.

His promises are real and secure. He is a faithful God who is true in all he does.

{2 Peter 1:4}
“For by these He has granted to us His precious and magnificent promises, so that by them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world by lust.”

{Revelation 19:1}
“I heard something like a loud voice of a great multitude in heaven, saying, “Hallelujah! Salvation and glory and power belong to our God;”

{Revelation 21:4-7}
“and He will wipe away every tear from their eyes; and there will no longer be any death; there will no longer be any mourning, or crying, or pain; the first things have passed away.” And He who sits on the throne said, “Behold, I am making all things new.” And He said, “Write, for these words are faithful and true.” Then He said to me, “It is done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give to the one who thirsts from the spring of the water of life without cost. He who overcomes will inherit these things, and I will be their God and they will be My children.”

If you love God, just know that your life has more meaning than you could ever comprehend. You belong to the Creator, and you’re going somewhere beyond our wildest imaginations. We are free to let go of this world and chase after Him.
