Chocolate Smoothie Bowl

Put g o o d things into your body. When you put good things into your body, your body will be in good health. And what are our bodies?

Temples of the l i v i n g God.

Yes, our lives as Christians are indeed spiritual. But as God’s people who are set apart for His purposes and His glory, it is imperative to take loving care of the bodies that God has graciously given us. We must care for them with •respect• because He m a d e them with •respect•.

Remember, we don’t belong to ourselves anymore, we belong to Jesus.

Spiritually a n d physically,
we are His.

Let us glorify Him in all we do, including what we put in our mouths. Let us delight in the foods He kindheartedly provides this earth.

{Psalm 139:14}
I will praise you; for I am fearfully and wonderfully made: marvelous are your works; and that my soul knows right well.

Smoothie Bowl & Jesus

I look at beautiful foods and it leaves me in awe. I believe we humans were meant to appreciate these things with a childlike wonder as we gaze upon it and enjoy its benefits, rather than view these beautiful things as common and not special. We’ve lost the wonder and amazement in life and we need it back. We’re meant to enjoy and find pleasure from these precious everyday provisions.

When we do this, it all becomes too obvious that there is design behind literally everything in our natural world; food is definitely no exception. There is meaning and purpose and creativity behind food.

[Create]-ivity comes from a [Create]-or. Beauty does not come from nothing, but from something.

Someone very special and beautiful and powerful and majestic. Someone who cares deeply and loves wildly and makes beautiful things for our eyes to behold and our bodies to value. Someone who is close and not distant but is indeed very, very personal. The One who is Lord over all the earth and the One who made these appealing and beneficial foods for humans to not only survive on, but to enjoy.

Let’s take back our wide-eyed wonder and pleasure of these things that we are so obviously meant to enjoy and not forget. There is Someone who is trying to speak to us, even through something as, in error, seemingly common as food.

He is telling us that He is very real, and that He cares. He loves, and He displays His love in these ways.
‭{Romans‬ ‭1:19-21‬}
“That which is known about God is evident within them; for God made it evident to them. For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes, His eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly seen, being understood through what has been made, so that they are without excuse. For even though they knew God, they did not honor Him as God or give thanks, but they became futile in their speculations, and their foolish heart was darkened.”

I love smoothie bowls! I love taking pretty, colourful, and wholesome foods and creating a beautifully presented plate.
Here is a smoothie bowl I made with blueberry & blackberries, topped with granola, sliced bananas, chia seeds, and more blackberries! *Almost* too pretty to eat.

Smoothie Bowl & Glory

The beauty in food astounds me.

It sings of the God who makes it.

It absolutely fills my heart in awe as excitement ripples through my being when I gaze my eyes upon the glory of God. It spins my mind like a merry-go-round. My eyes grow large in pure wonder as they behold the extravagance and utterly delightful beauty found in our natural world. Food is a gift that is so appealing to all of our senses, is so enjoyable, and keeps us alive. And I don’t mean big macs – I’m talking about real, natural, and plant foods that we’ve been bountifully provided. Foods that are grown on this wonderful earth.

I mean, look at it. The colours, the tastes, the texture, the nutrient and vitamins so abundantly found in each and every single whole food. It’s wonderful. We’ve been consuming food since being in our mother’s womb, so we’ve grown accustom to it. However, look closely, and allow your senses to be amazed and wooed.

Only a divine, creative, glorious Creator could supply us with this kind of beauty.

There is purpose behind this. Extravagant beauty behind this. Provision and deep care behind this. Creativity behind this. Intelligence behind this. Immeasurable wisdom behind this.

Love behind this.

Oh, the decadent tastes. Not only are plant foods exceedingly pleasing to our eyes, but oh…the tastes. Fruit, for instance. Juicy, vibrant, ripe, luxurious fruit that sustains our entire beings physically and mentally. It’s a taste of who our Creator is.

It’s a taste of God Himself.

God is so incredible, and so much more beautiful than even the beauty we can see in the things He makes. Because these things simply came from Him. Imagine Him. We couldn’t possibly comprehend the depth and extreme beauty that He Himself possesses.

That said, here is a delicious and pretty smoothie bowl I made! The smoothie mixture turns out like sherbet and it is oh so delightful. That vibrancy, tho. It’s so very inviting. It tastes like such a treat, and all it is is bananas and strawberries mixed in a blender! It’s amazing what you can make with real whole plant foods. You can essentially eat ice cream every single day and know that you are eating optimally for your health.

Mind = blown. Every single day. Thankfulness to Jesus, every single day.

Christ is the visible image of the invisible God
He existed before anything was created and is supreme over all creation,
for through him God created everything
in the heavenly realms and on earth.
He made the things we can see
and the things we can’t see—
such as thrones, kingdoms, rulers, and authorities in the unseen world.
Everything was created through him and for him.
He existed before anything else,
and he holds all creation together.

Colossians 5:15-17 so eloquently enlightens us on Jesus Christ’s divinity, power, and splendour. And when we realize that this is who He is and become intensely aware of Him, our hearts melt and come alive at the same time as we become saturated in His creation – His majestic qualities pouring forth into the magnificently beautiful things we see and experience.

He made these things, and He is glorious.

Smoothie Bowl DirectionsIn a blender, I throw in frozen bananas with fresh strawberries (stems and all!) and blend with about 1/4 cup  – 1/2 cup of water for it to turn into a smooth ice cream mixture. Then, I top it with healthy yummy things – with whatever suits my fancy! In this picture I have it topped with: sliced banana, sliced strawberries, chia seeds, hemp heart seeds, granola, and cacao nibs. You can go crazy. Oh my yum!
