I look at beautiful foods and it leaves me in awe. I believe we humans were meant to appreciate these things with a childlike wonder as we gaze upon it and enjoy its benefits, rather than view these beautiful things as common and not special. We’ve lost the wonder and amazement in life and we need it back. We’re meant to enjoy and find pleasure from these precious everyday provisions.
When we do this, it all becomes too obvious that there is design behind literally everything in our natural world; food is definitely no exception. There is meaning and purpose and creativity behind food.
[Create]-ivity comes from a [Create]-or. Beauty does not come from nothing, but from something.
Someone.
Someone very special and beautiful and powerful and majestic. Someone who cares deeply and loves wildly and makes beautiful things for our eyes to behold and our bodies to value. Someone who is close and not distant but is indeed very, very personal. The One who is Lord over all the earth and the One who made these appealing and beneficial foods for humans to not only survive on, but to enjoy.
Let’s take back our wide-eyed wonder and pleasure of these things that we are so obviously meant to enjoy and not forget. There is Someone who is trying to speak to us, even through something as, in error, seemingly common as food.
I love smoothie bowls! I love taking pretty, colourful, and wholesome foods and creating a beautifully presented plate. Here is a smoothie bowl I made with blueberry & blackberries, topped with granola, sliced bananas, chia seeds, and more blackberries! *Almost* too pretty to eat.
It may be too pretty, but I will have a bite!
